Commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Waynesville, our Open House on May 10th featured Civil War era trains and cars and cars.

We will be running our crowd-pleasing portable layout at the Asheville Train Show, Friday and Saturday, March 6 and 7. The Show will be held at the Ag Center Expo Hall, near the Asheville Airport. The hours will be 12-7 on Friday and 9-5 on Saturday. As in other years, there will be a few other operating layouts ( no other O gauge, however) and lots of folks selling trains.
We have upgraded our city with some new animations, and we will be testing a module which has push buttons so that children of all ages will be able to raise or lower crossing gates or control a crossing watchman.
Please stop by and see us!
Because we will be running trains on Friday and Saturday, the March Second Sunday Open House has been cancelled. We will resume our Second Sundays on April 12.
Here are some photos from the 2014 Train Show to whet your appetite!
We set up at the Haywood County Fairgrounds before the showing of The Polar Express. A few of the children had to be pulled away to see the movie!!
